Michaelis-Menten
This is a three compartment model. Compartment one dishes to compartments two and three using Michaelis-Menten kinetics. The return paths are mass action.The two Michaelis-Menten pathways are not the same, however. The one-two path has a VMax of 2.0 and a Km of 0.5. The one-three path has a VMax of 10.0 and a Km of 0.5.
The figure above shows that when the input to compartment one is increased, compartment two is already near VMax while compartment three is not. Thus, most of the increased flow into compartment one is passed along to compartment three.
