Dr. Heather Drummond

A post-doctoral position is available for candidates with a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree with research interests in mechanotransduction in sensory neurons, endothelial or vascular smooth muscle cells. Candidates with strong backgrounds in integrative physiology and/or molecular biology are especially encouraged to apply. Research projects include the identification and regulation of mechanosensitive ion channel complexes in cardiovascular neurons, endothelial and vascular smooth muscle cells, as well as their role in the pathophysiology of hypertension. Candidates will have the opportunity to learn a broad range of methods and research strategies including molecular, biochemical, cellular, whole organ, and integrative biological approaches. Position is available in the laboratory of Dr.Heather A. Drummond in the Department of Physiology & Biophysics.
