Physiology is the study of function at all levels of organization, from the molecule to the whole animal. The primary mission of the Department of Physiology and Biophysics Graduate Program is to train integrative systems physiologists with the expertise to utilize modern genetic, molecular, cellular and biochemical methods to investigate physiologic and pathophysiologic mechanisms.
Program Highlights
Strong emphasis on integrating whole animal physiology with molecular biology, genetics and biochemistry.
Students are highly sucessful in obtaining post-graduate postitions.
Strong emphasis on research with course work completed by the end of year two.
Students typically complete the program in 4-5 years.
Students graduate the program with two degrees (M.S., Ph.D.)
Qualified students graduate the program with a M.D./Ph.D. degree.
