Histology Core
Specimen submission
- Consultation: ALL investigators are required to consult with the Histology staff prior to commencement of specimen collection to determine the most appropriate method of tissue fixation, processing, staining and analysis. Please schedule a consultation time by e-mailing Stephanie (sevans@physiology.umsmed.edu) or Christine (cmaris@physiology.umsmed.edu)
- Service Request: for submission of tissue or request for services, please complete the Request for Histology Services form. Please provide all the requested information on the form
- Submission protocol: please make sure that all the specimens submitted are clearly labeled and that labels correspond to the information provided in the Request for Histology Services form
- Embedding Instructions: on the Request for Histology Services form, please provide any special embedding instructions (e.g. cut side down, sagittal etc); if no special instructions are provided, tissue will be embedded as deemed appropriate by the histology core laboratory staff.
