To do the simulations described in these hypertext documents, the VisSim viewer must be installed on your WWW browser. When a VisSim model specification file (file extension VSM) is encountered by your browser, it should automatically be passed along to the VisSim viewer. The simulation is then run.

Models created by licensed users of the VisSim model authoring software may be solved (viewed) using the VisSim Viewer for Windows described here.

VisSim model specification files are announced by the VisSim button.

There are 2 steps to installing the VisSim viewer.

• Download the viewer, explode it, install it.
• Tell your WWW browser about the viewer.

The VisSim Viewer files have been combined and compressed into a single distribution file

• VSPAK.EXE (950k)

for transport over the Internet. After downloading, run VSPAK one time and it will automatically explode out to about a dozen VisSim Viewer distribution files. Run the installation software INSTALL.EXE to expand and install this software.

Tell your WWW browser the following

• MIME type: application
• MIME subtype: vissim
• File extension: VSM
• Application to start when VSM file is encountered: c:\vissimvw\vissimvw.exe
  (Your path may be different according to where you installed the VisSim viewer.)
