This lab consists of nine modules that explore the action potential, based on the work of Hodgkin-Huxley. Live buttons will start a simulation that illustrates the behavior of voltage-dependent sodium and potassium over time. Events that exist in time are particular to the science of Physiology, and present a special challenge to the student. No longer is science composed of a list; now there are relationships to learn that depend not only on each other but also on time itself.
