A prerequisite for admission to the physiology graduate program is a bachelor's degree in science or engineering and an overall B average. The applicant must submit an application for admission (http://graduate-school.umc.edu/index.html) to the Office of Student Records and Registrar, an official transcript of undergraduate and graduate (if applicable) grades, and an official statement of scores received on the Graduate Record Examination. Foreign applicants must submit official TOEFL scores. Additional requirements are indicated in the application for Graduate Studies at the University of Mississippi Medical Center.
We are pleased to offer financial assistance to all students pursuing a Ph.D. This includes a stipend (currently ~ $25,000/year), health benefits, and a tuition waiver for all Mississippi residents.
We accept applications at any time during the year, but it is most beneficial to the student to have their application completed by March or April. This deadline allows the student to enter the program the following Summer of Fall.
Any questions regarding the Graduate Program in Physiology may be addressed to the Graduate Program Director, Thomas E. Lohmeier, Ph.D. (tlohmeier@physiology.umsmed.edu)
